Pfizer Park is the key component of an urban redevelopment initiative for Brooklyn, NY sponsored by Pfizer Inc. The initiative consists of creating a series of green spaces on former “brown fields” adjacent to Pfizer’s main manufacturing plant that have since been encapsulated in concrete. The spaces include a playground for a charter elementary school, playing fields for Pfizer employees, public exhibit and event space and a passive recreation park for neighborhood residents. The design also links a planned retail shopping center with a proposed museum on the site of Pfizer’s original manufacturing plant.
