The owner/chef's desire for a non-traditional menu encouraged the introduction of new and unique combinations of materials. A blank wall extending the length of the restaurant links all the levels and forms an interactive canvas upon which the lights, shadows, sounds and tastes coming from the kitchen below are projected. To further compliment the food, P+FC developed a complex palette of finishes consisting of common industrial materials: linen impregnated phenolic wall panels, translucent fiberglass pivot doors, natural wood ramps and stairs, banquettes covered with automotive trunk lining, and polycarbonate sheathed lights.. "Coup takes an ascetic stand on visual stimulation" -NY Times. The restaurant seats 140 and includes an outdoor patio, a bar, and three levels of dining.
